Occupational Therapist


Anita Brown-Major is an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about working with individuals in a client centred approach. 


Anita has extensive rehabilitation experience,including amputee and mental health and for the past twenty years has specialised in neurological rehabilitation. She has worked with Thrive rehab for 6 years, while continuing to work part time at a major Melbourne hospital as well as tutoring Occupational therapy students at a local university.   


Anita has completed extensive research into the importance sexuality (not just sex, but relationships, intimacy and self-esteem) for people living with different abilities and bodies, ensuring a focus on quality of life.


Anita has developed an in-depth understanding of the Australian National Disability and Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and assists people navigate their

journey within this system.

Strangely enough Anita loves public speaking and is dedicated to working with consumers, families, staff and other health care professionals to be the best versions of themselves. She strongly believes in the concepts of “nothing about me, without me” and insists on raising consumers voices to the forefront.

Simone Sheridan is a nurse educator and sexual health nurse consultant with considerable experience in supporting patients with concerns related to sexual health and intimacy. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge with other health professionals and has facilitated many seminars and workshops on the topic of sexual health.

Consumer Advocate

Fi Macrae is a Consumer Advocate, living with severe chronic pain and Endometriosis. 


She has a passion for sexual health, intimacy and disability.


Having lived in chronic pain due to her illness, her experiences in the health care system give her a  unique insight into the often-difficult area of sexual and mental health and the relationship between the two.


She recently gained certificates in International Women’s Health and Human

Rights (Stanford University), and Feminism and Social Justice (University of California).


She has recently launched ‘Private Parts’ a video series documenting lives of those living with invisible chronic conditions.

And has also teamed up with Thrive to launch ‘Cliteracy’ - The first anatomical working model showing the interaction of the vulva, clitoris and pelvis in a pull-apart 3D printed ball.
